☺ Este paisaje de otro mundo actualmente es Dagze Co, uno de los muchos lagos interiores en el Tíbet. En la época glacial, la región fue mucho más húmeda, y los lagos fueron correspondientemente mucho más grandes, como lo demuestran los numerosos fósiles en las costas que circundan el lago y dan testimonio de la presencia de uno mayor anteriormente, el lago más profundo. Durante milenios los cambios en el clima han dado lugar a una mayor aridez de la meseta del Tíbet.
☻ Another World
☻ This other worldly landscape is actually Dagze Co, one of many inland lakes in Tibet. In glacial times, the region was considerably wetter, and lakes were correspondingly much larger, as evidenced by the numerous fossil shorelines that circle the lake and attest to the presence of a previously larger, deeper lake. Over millennia changes in climate have resulted in greater aridity of the Tibetan Plateau.
☺ Delta Del Lena En Siberia
☺ El río Lena, de unas 2.800 millas de largo, es el más oriental de los tres grandes ríos de Siberia que desembocan en el Océano Ártico y es uno de los ríos más grandes del mundo. El Delta del Lena Reserva de Vida Silvestre, es un área silvestre protegida, ofrece un importante refugio y criadero para muchas especies de vida silvestre de Siberia, y también es un importante sitio de desove para los peces.

☻ The Lena River, some 2,800 miles long, is the easternmost of the three great Siberian rivers that flow into the Arctic Ocean and is one of the largest rivers in the world. The Lena Delta Wildlife Reserve, a protected wilderness area, provides an important refuge and breeding ground for many species of Siberian wildlife, and is also an important fish spawning site.

☺ Esta vista del Lago Eyre de Australia fue tomada por el transbordador espacial en 1990. El lago cubre unos 3.600 kilómetros cuadrados y es el punto más bajo en Australia en alrededor de 50 pies por debajo del nivel del mar, también es un lago salado, efímera que recibe menos de 5 pulgadas de precipitación media anual. Los registros indican que el lago sólo se ha llenado completamente con agua tres veces en el siglo 20 - en 1950, 1974 y 1984. Parte de la bodega de carga del Shuttle es visible a lo largo del borde derecho de la imagen.

☻ This view of Australia's Lake Eyre was taken by the space shuttle in 1990. The lake covers about 3,600 square miles and is the lowest point in Australia at about 50 feet below sea level.It also is an ephemeral salt lake that receives less than 5 inches of annual average precipitation. Records indicate that the lake has only been completely filled with water three times in the 20th century--in 1950, 1974 and 1984. Part of the spacesShuttle cargo bay is visible along the right edge of the image.

☺ Vista masiva del oeste del Glaciar Isla Pine en la Antártida desde una de las ventanas de los aviones de la NASA DC-8 de investigación, ya que vuelan a una altitud de 1.500 metros, el día martes 27 de octubre 2009. Este fue el séptimo vuelo científico de la Operación Puente de Hielo de la NASA, una misión de Ciencias de la Tierra en el aire para estudiar las hojas de hielo de la Antártida, el hielo marino y las plataformas de hielo. El glaciar es uno de los principales objetivos de la misión debido a la rapidez con que se está perdiendo hielo hacia el mar.
☻ Pine Island Glacier
☻ West Antarctica's massive Pine Island Glacier is seen out the window of NASA's DC-8 research aircraft as it flies at an altitude of 1,500 feet, Tuesday, Oct. 27, 2009. This was the seventh science flight of NASA's Operation Ice Bridge, an airborne Earth science mission to study Antarctic ice sheets, sea ice and ice shelves. The glacier is one of the primary targets of the mission because of the rapid rate at which it is losing ice to the sea.

☺ Situado majestuosamente sobre un poste de electricidad en el Kennedy Center de la NASA en Florida, una águila calva es el rey de todas las encuestas. Kennedy co-existe con el Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, que proporciona un hábitat para 330 especies de aves, entre ellas las águilas calvas. ☻ Sitting majestically atop a utility pole at NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida, a bald eagle is king of all he surveys. Kennedy co-exists with the Merritt Island National Wildlife Refuge, which provides a habitat for 330 species of birds including bald eagles. A variety of other wildlife--117 kinds of fish, 65 types of amphibians and reptiles, 31 different mammals, and 1,045 species of plants--also inhabit the refuge.

Problemas Técnicos En Servidor Mediapix.ru

Por razones ajenas a nuestra voluntad y que además desconocemos, el servidor de mediapix en la madre Rusia, donde tenemos alojado gran parte de nuestro material gráfico se encuentra caído, fuera de servicio, y no sabemos si reiniciará su servicio. En el intertanto seguiremos trabajando.

Terremoto En Chile 27 Feb 2010 - Earthquake In Chile -- Bruno Sandoval Levantando La Bandera De Chile

☺ Bruno Sandoval, artesano de Talca, levanta la bandera de Chile de entre los escombros de su hogar en Pelluhue posterior al terremoto del 27 de febrero, donde es captado por el fotógrafo de la agencia AP Roberto Candia. Esta fotografía representa la destrucción en nuestro país, y a su vez el espíritu de levantar la nación y no darse por vencidos, la cual ha dado la vuelta al mundo y será la imagen representativa de la campaña Chile Ayuda A Chile. Es muy probable que gane algún premio internacional.
☻ Bruno Sandoval, artisan from Talca, Chile's flag rose from the rubble of his home in Pelluhue after the earthquake of 27 February, where it is captured by AP photographer Roberto Candia. This photograph represents the destruction in our country, and in turn lift the spirit of the nation and not giving up, which has gone around the world and will be the representative image of the campaign Chile Help To Chile. It is very likely to win any international award.
